"When I first worked with Eduardo, I came prepared with a bag of simple wardrobe intent on creating a minimal shoot. I had just returned from New York where I modeled over the summer and I assumed that the shoot would be similar to what I had done there. A lot of photographers over-direct and over-style, which often makes for a labored shoot and unnatural looking photos. After my shoot with Eduardo began, I realized that I was collaborating with a true artist. He allowed me to move freely and encouraged expression. For the first time, I felt like I was able to be myself and display my personality to the full extent. And the photos reflected it.
We shot for the second time on an abandoned country property near my hometown. We experimented with long dresses in the woodsy setting and open field. Although it was a much shorter shoot, we created even more of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken.
The third time that I worked with Eduardo, I had a specific purpose in mind. I asked him to collaborate with me to create a wedding gift for my husband. Eduardo was so helpful in allowing me to choose photos and suggesting ideas. We used simple, beautiful wardrobe pieces and created a timeless series of photographs. No other photographer could have captured the emotion and importance of the shoot in the way that he did. To this day, it is still my favorite shoot that I’ve ever done. My now-husband was floored by the photos and I know that I will look at them in 20 years and be so happy to have them.
Eduardo’s style of work is in a class all its own. He takes a carefree, minimal approach to shooting and seems genuinely fascinated by the process that creates each photo. Character, raw emotion, and life emanate from each of his photos, giving the viewer a glimpse into the subject’s soul. Shooting with Eduardo is a refreshing and rewarding experience.”
